JUNIORS
2024 Junior Talent Squad - sponsored by The Kensi
At Jags we take our development seriously, with A LOT of fun!!
Juniors include ALL players from Net Set Go (5yo) to Junior (15&U). Intermediates (17&U) start to participate in Senior environments. For more information on Intermediates - head to our Inters & Seniors page.
Our primary focus is on the improvement of skill through enjoyment. All players need to enjoy their netball and feel valued and respected. Throughout their netball journey, we aim to provide players with a variety of opportunities to develop their skills and improve their understanding of the game. We encourage our players to take on as many opportunities they wish – we will always support our players to be the best they can be.

JUNIOR PLAYER DEVELOPMENT - SUMMER
Following on from the club decision to move ALL Junior teams to the City Night Division competition for this Summer 23/24, our head coaches have created Summer Development Programs to complement our move. The aim of this is to use the summer season to achieve consistency in development across the cohort and thus strengthen our competitiveness the following Winter.
Over summer there are 3 focus areas for development:
1. Sub Primary & Primary
2. Sub Juniors & Juniors
3. Junior Talent Squad (JTS)

Sub-Primary & Primary: Development will occur during their weekly training sessions and games.
Sub Juniors & Juniors: Summer development programs include team training, skill sessions, and fitness sessions. Details and opportunities will be provided to registered players during the season.
Junior Talent Squad (JTS): This program is the first step in our elite athlete pathways. Appropriately aged players in the AMND Sub Junior 1 and Junior 1 & 2 teams are automatically selected with additional players from the Junior and Sub Junior cohort selected from summer trials or identified by the program selection panel.

The program occurs across the summer season and includes a Camp and supplementary sessions - Fitness Testing, Injury PreHab & Trial Preparation. All JTS members are expected to attend Fitness Sessions. Further information can be found HERE.

Junior Skills Sessions: Set during the Summer School Holidays - Junior Skills Sessions for Primary to Juniors are FREE and OPEN to all players in this age group (not just Jags players) - with a focus on all aspects of netball.
SUMMER TRAINING - THURSDAY NIGHTS

JUNIOR PLAYER DEVELOPMENT - WINTER
Winter season is our main competitive season. Our focus on development in winter is to build on the programs from the summer season. Winter Trials are held in February and squads (Primary to Intermediates) will have two pre-season sessions, before formal Winter training begins in April.
Games start in early May. During the season, in addition to our normal training program, we have sessions with our Premier League Buddies, and friendlies with Morialta NC and attend carnivals such as the SAUCNA Junior Carnival in the July School Holidays. We are also fortunate enough to have access to an Adelaide Thunderbird player through the NSA Premier League club-aligned player program.

In addition, to our normal training program and carnivals. Players selected in the Winter Junior 1 and 2 and Sub Junior 1 teams will have access to extra specialist sessions throughout Winter. Further details of these will be provided in early 2025.
