Jenna Mendo had reason to celebrate her 100th State League game last Friday night as a result of Jag's 37 goal victory over Harlequins and Oakdale's 3 goal win over Woods Panthers that moved Jags into fourth place on percentage.

With the games on adjacent courts spectators by the end of the night had sore necks from watching the two contests. While we were always in control in our game Jags spectators had a few heart flutters when Woods came back from 10 goals down in the last nine minutes to almost draw level with Oakies in the final quarter.

With two games left in the preliminary rounds and both Jags and Woods expected both to win this week, it will come down to the final round when both clubs play each other to decide who makes the semi finals.

The Reserves had a comfortable win in their game by 21 goals, but with only two games left cant make the semi's, however the girls undaunted continue to put in their awe.

AMND JAGS 38 defeated by Cheerio 45. In what was a tough game as always against the experienced opposition Jags got off to a good start, converting a few intercepts into a nice lead. Unfortunately we could not hold this and were down by one at quater time. Jags showed that they were not going to back down but due Cheerio increased the lead to seven goals, this difference not being a reflection of the effort each player who took the court in the game put in. The girls should all be proud, it shows true heart when a team does not stop fighting. Bad luck girls! Written by Rikki Toner. Coach Bordon Kosandiak.

A Grade JAGS 29 defeated by Cheerio 58

B2 JAGS 30 defeated by Pembroke O.S. 72

C1 JAGS 42 defeated by Cheerio 47

C2 JAGS 45 defeated Old Ignatians 26. The team had a good return to form this week, beating Old Ignations. This win will be a good percentage booster for the team as they head towards cementing a spot in the top 4. Looking forward to tough matches in the next couple of weeks against other finals contenders. Coach Anita Quinlivan.

C5 JAGS 27 defeated Contax 4

Intermediate 1 JAGS 29 defeated by Tango 41. A disappointing loss to a team we beat in the first round. The game was close until the last quarter, but credit must go to the circle defenders who worked tirelessly all day. Coach Jodie Freund.

Intermediate 3 JAGS 35 defeated Harlequin 32. As the road to the finals begins after the school holiday break, it was important for us to win on Saturday to retain our position in the top four. We knew playing Harlequin was always going to be tough. In a physical, relentless match, which saw our girls possibly putting in the best team effort for the season. Great focus and commitment to both the game and each other saw us victorious by three goals. Many thanks to Mandy Edwards who gave many words of wisdom and advice to the players throughout the game, this was greatly appreciated by all and I am sure helped immensely. Goalies, Rachael and Morgan both shot over 70% and combined extremely well, with numerous rebounds from our defence and constant attack and drive by our midcourt all contributed to our success. Thank you to all seven girls that gave their all on Saturday, it is this that makes coaching very worthwhile. Coach - Leanne Nelson.

Intermediate 4 JAGS 29 defeated Woods Panthers 25. A great come from behind win. We were 5 down at 3/4 time and won by 4. Everyone contributed to the win and some showed they are very versatile by playing in positions they don’t usually play. Well done girls. Coach Kaye O'Rielly.

Junior 2 JAGS (1) 50 defeated JAGS (2) 32

Junior 3 JAGS 20 defeated by Western Jets (1) 43

Junior 4 JAGS 32 defeated by Cheerio 42

Junior 6 JAGS 16 defeated by North East Zodiacs 38

Junior 7 JAGS 16 defeated by Noarlunga 50

Sub Junior 3 JAGS (1) 33 defeated Harlequin (2) 15

Sub Junior 3 JAGS (2) 22 defeated Garville 15

Sub Junior 5 JAGS 6 defeated by Matrics 12

Sub Junior 6 JAGS 12 defeated by Western Jets (1) 26. The first half of the game was closely contested with one goal between the 2 teams at half time. Unfortunately we were unable to maintain any momentum in the second half and we struggled to open up the court and get ourselves in good positions to receive passes, which led to some poor passing decisions and ultimately turnovers. Our defensive pressure was better but we did not make the most of the opportunities that were created. Stay positive girls and work hard at training and we can turn these things around. Coach Katrina Day.

Sub Junior 9 JAGS 22 defeated Cheerio (2) 9

Primary 2 JAGS 14 drew with Garville

Primary 4 JAGS 29 defeated Garville 3. “A very convincing win by our team this week with every single player contributing to the result. No one stood out as pivotal, all 8 girls knew their jobs and used their increasing skills, strengths and abilities for all 4 quarters to seal a big win over Garville. For the next 5 weeks the challenges will get sequentially tougher. We will have to use every opportunity to fine tune our skills and improve each week, as the end of season will fast approach. We still have a lot of work to do but are having plenty of fun along the way!” Keep working hard girls. Coach Sue Jones.

Primary 6 JAGS (1) 17 defeated JAGS (2) 3. JAGS 2 Report. We were beaten by a team that showed more effort for the ball. We were getting caught behind at the passes and their attacking pressure was much better than our defensive pressure. We really need to improve in our second efforts at the ball. Our attack started looking better when Maddie was put as goal shooter but she can’t do everything. Award to Adelle and Kyra for good efforts in the centre. Coach Sarah Morris.
