State League JAGS 59 defeated Cougars 50.

State league Reserves JAGS 44 defeated by Cougars 45.

Saturday 19 June 2010

AMND JAGS 51 defeated by Matrics 52. In a game that could have put us into the four, the team fought out a tightly contested game, falling just short of the line yet again. In an excellent game to watch Matrics got an early lead in the first, but some excellent defence by Renee Rohde and impeccable feeding to the goalies by Bonnie Thomas in an excellent second quarter saw Jags enter half time with a 2 goal lead. A slow start to the third extended the margin out to a 6 goal Matrics lead. The Jags girls rallied however to put on five in a row, and bring the margin back in and ensure a thrilling final quarter. With the quarter going goal for goal, it came down to the last minute of the game where Matrics scored the last two goals to win by one. The girls should hold their heads up with a fine performance despite not taking the points and look forward to Contax next week. Written by Stacey Dunn. Coach Bordon Kosandiak.

A Grade JAGS 40 defeated by Flames 63

B2 JAGS 61 defeated Tango 28. A great team effort resulted in a comfortable win considering team changes have continued. The work rate and effort allowed an opportunity to expose players to some new positions further developing our flexibility. Coach Kevin Henderson.

C1 JAGS 63 defeated City Coasters 44

C2 JAGS 46 defeated Westminster O.S. 36. Today the team had a hard fought win over Westminster. The girls over came the physical nature of the game, setting up the win with a 10 goal turn around in an impressive third quarter. Coach Anita Quinlivan.

C5 JAGS 31 defeated Woods Panthers 8

Intermediate 1 JAGS 42 defeated Harlequin 37. A great first quarter set up the win, and even though Harlequin brought it back to even in the last quarter, the girls dug deep and ran out the game winning by 5 goals. Well played by all. Coach Jodie Freund

Intermediate 3 JAGS 34 defeated by Contax 36. The first game of the second round saw us playing Contax. Unfortunately we went down. At first disappointed with the loss, a closer look at the stats showed we actually put up more shots than Contax, which tells us next time we play them in the finals "Watch Out Contax". Great defence throughout the game, midcourt pressure was also good. Pleasing to see a great game by Rachael in GA. This week we face Cougars and look forward to regaining our winning momentum. Coach Leanne Nelson.

Intermediate 4 JAGS 41 drew with Adelaide Wildcats. After a big second and an even bigger last quarter we came from 9 down at 3/4 time to draw. A few different positional changes made a big difference and everyone played really well. Coach Kaye O'Rielly

Junior 2 JAGS (1) 53 defeated Woods Panthers (2) 33. A game were we have now put together 4 quarters of netball, leading at each change the team worked diligently and applied team instructions well to achieve a solid victory. Coach Kevin Henderson.

Junior 2 JAGS (2) 37 were defeated by Wood Panthers (1) 54

Junior 3 JAGS 17 defeated by Contax (2) 27

Junior 4 JAGS 26 defeated by Tango (1) 45

Junior 6 JAGS 25 defeated by Western Jets 33

Junior 7 JAGS 46 defeated Adelaide Cougars (2) 44

Sub Junior 3 JAGS (1) 35 defeated Western Jets 13 AND JAGS (2) 15 defeated by Harlequin(1) 22

Sub Junior 5 JAGS 23 defeated Semaphore 22

Sub Junior 6 JAGS 16 drew with Oakdale. The result truly reflected the game today, it was an even tussle for the whole game. Losing one of our defenders just prior to the start of the game some adjustments needed to be made. Tahlia & Raquel both stepped up to cover the GD position, doing a great job. Josephine fitted into the team like she belonged and the rest of the girls went about their business as usual. It was obvious at the end of the game that we had put Oakdale under pressure that they were unaccustomed to, so that was a win for us. I was extremely proud of the effort and determination today girls, keep up the good work. Coach Katrina Day

Sub Junior 7 JAGS 14 defeated by Cheerio 15

Sub Junior 9 JAGS 16 defeated by Cheerio (1) 22

Primary 2 JAGS 29 defeated Woods Panthers 5. A fantastic team effort by the girls this week, all the work they are putting into training each week is certainly showing on the scorecard. Strong positive passing and strong leads were a key to the great win. Accurate shooting and excellent movement in the circle by Mikayla and Alex, Brianna and Emily where fantastic in centre court, Hannah, Georgia and Victoria were strong in defence. Well done girls, great team effort. Coach Karen Braund

Primary 4 JAGS 15 drew with Western Jets. The team played their closest, competitive game all season this week against Jets – resulting in a draw! Abby gave her best performance in my opinion this week, with a strong and more skillful display in GD for the first half. Then, coming off at half time, Giorgia filled the GD role and also played at her consistent best. Unfortunately due to injury, Giorgia was forced to come off in the last quarter and Abby continued on with strength till the end. Our goalies struggled this week due to some tall and quite skillful defenders, their best challengers so far, which forced the girls to learn to hold and play in front more consistently. Again, our mid court passing requires attention as too often targets were not hit, but nothing continued efforts at training can’t rectify. Next week we meet Tango who should prove to be another formidable opponent! Come on girls…we are better than them...let’s show them just how much!” Coach Sue Jones

Primary 6 JAGS(1) 34 defeated Contax 7

Primary 6 JAGS (2) 15 defeated Matrics 7. What a great game by everybody , you all played really well. Maddie played really well in a defensive position and worked well with Tara in the goal circle to cause turnovers. All the centre area players did a good job by providing opportunities to pass. Adelle and Amy showed a real understanding of each other in attack and Amy was fantastic at holding a position and then dropping back to receive a shot for goal. You should all be proud of your game. Coaches award to Maddie for doing a great job in an unfamiliar position and Amy for being able to read the play and knowing when to drop back towards the goals. Coach Sarah Morris.

Sub Primary. Jaguars 17 def Oakdale 0. Everyone played fantastic this week. Stephanie was terrific in goals, scoring 10 for the match. It was really great to see the girls all running to space and playing their position. They have all come such a long way and have improved so much. Well done to Stephanie, Sophie, Tahlia, Josie, Brooke, Annie and Holly on a great game. Coach Elyse Morris
