JAGS State League 73 defeated Tango 29

JAGS State League Reserve 54 defeated Tango 26

A return to court 1 saw both League (by 44 goals) and Reserves (by 28 goals) have predictable wins on Friday night at the expense of Tango, importantly both percentage boosting, which could prove vital at the pointy end of the season. At the end of round 8, the League sits in 3rd position, while the Reserves 6th. This week's games against Woods Panthers has the potential to be season defining for both teams, and since they are on Saturday it would be great to see as many girls playing on that day supporting the both teams later in the afternoon.

C5 JAGS BYE

Inter 1 - Jags 51 defeated Oakdale 32. After an early injury to our captain, players adjusted well to positional changes and set up a good quarter time lead which improved as the game went on. Fantastic shooting and good solid hard defensive work all over the court saw Jags win by 19 goals. Special mention must go to Jessica who switched from GK to GS to cover the injury, only to put in a grand effort to help set up the win. Coach Jodie Freund.

Inter 3 - Jags 44 defeated Cheerio (2) 27. Another great win by the girls. Special thanks to Hannah who came up from Inter 4's and played a great game in WA. All girls combined well

throughout the match, with skills and teamwork ever improving. Well done once again !!! Coach Leanne Nelson

Inter 4 JAGS 32 defeated by Garville 34. An even contest for all of the game. A great last quarter by our girls but we just fell short. Everyone contributed 100%. Coach Kaye O'Rielly

Junior 1 – JAGS 36 defeated by Adelaide Cougars 38

Junior 2- JAGS 41 defeated by Tango (1) 48

Junior 4 – JAGS (1) 44 defeated Tango 26. JAGS (2) 24 defeated by Western Jets 46

Junior 6- JAGS 63 defeated Garville 18

Junior 7 – JAGS 30 defeated by Noarlunga 36

Sub Junior 2 JAGS 24 defeated Garville 13. It took us two rounds and two narrow losses and today we came up with our first win against Garville. I was extremely pleased with the four quarters effort of the players and for following up their exceptional training during the week with good passing, catching and ball movement. Great effort girls – let’s keep that winning feeling going! Coach Karen O’Shaunessy

Sub Junior 3 JAGS 40 defeated Garville 10

Sub Junior 4 JAGS 40 defeated Garville 10

Sub Junior 4. JAGS 6 defeated by Woods Panthers 24. Our result this week was a mixed one. Although the scoreboard was not in our favour the team played with a spirit and maturity beyond their years. Our defensive half was determined to not let the opposition have an easy time and caused many turn overs. Our attack half tried their hardest to convert every opportunity to a goal. There was fight in the team right up to the final whistle and all the players should be very proud of themselves in the way they played the game. A very encouraging game to watch and one where the attitude of the team certainly won the respect of the coach. Coach Merry Beauchamp.

Sub Junior 6 JAGS 24 defeated Woods Panthers 20. Another great team effort by the girls gave us our second win for the season. After a tight first half the girls really stepped it up in the third quarter giving us an eight goal lead. Our defence was solid, creating many turnovers and then some great passing and good use of the court made sure we gave our goalies maximum opportunity to score, and capitalise on this they did. In the last quarter Woods made a run at us but the girls held it together and came away with the win. It is very pleasing to see the girls bringing the skills we practice at training into the games and seeing overall improvement in the whole team each week. Fantastic effort girls, keep working hard together. Coach Katrina Day.

Sub Junior 7 JAGS 28 defeated Oakdale 6

Sub Junior 8 JAGS 6 defeated by Matrics 31

Primary 1. JAGS 8 defeated by Woods Panthers 43. The girls put in another great effort this week, they worked hard together as a team, but unfortunately were overpowered by a very tall and strong Woods. From the first quarter until the last they had great determination never once putting their heads down and giving up. A fantastic effort in GD by Georgia. A thank you to Abby for filling in for us this week. Coach Karen Braund.

Primary 5 – JAGS 24 defeated Tango 3. Another great show by the team this weekend. This week, Lily had a go in GS and managed 3 goals, but more impressive to the coach was the way she tried to keep her GK under control with some sensible, body work. Well done Lily! Emma also deserves a mention this week after meeting the personal challenge given to her for the final quarter. Three beautiful, two handed intercepts (rather than one handed!), showing she is capable of doing exactly what her coach asks of her. Emma should be very proud of herself. The whole team together worked extremely well this week. Keep it up girls, we are improving week by week. Coach Sue Jones.

Primary 6 JAGS 28 defeated Western Jets 1

Primary 7 JAGS 18 defeated Matrics 1
