The League and Reserves showed their true colours last Friday night with hard fought wins over Oakdale in their respective grades. The cornerstone of both victories was the strength of our teams defences as evidenced by the low scores that Oakdale were kept to in both games. The League victory was all the more sweeter as Oakdale were last year’s premiers. Amongst the crowd was our patron, Mr D and No1 ticket holder David Wildy and I’m sure life member Marg Ridely and Shane O’Sullivan (Lil’s Dad over from Melbourne) enjoyed the night. On a sad note, both clubs wore black armbands as a mark of respect to the sudden passing of Oakdale’s Reserves team manager.

B2 - The B2's catapulted into the start of the season with a convincing victory. On a warm Saturday afternoon the newly formed teamed displayed an exciting brand and pressure game of netball with every player making a significant contribution, and even a second term injury did not prevent the hard work and high scoring continuing. The final result was a 56 JAGS to 15 Tango. Sue and coach Kevin Henderson.

C1 – City Coasters 33 – JAGS 51

C2 - The C2 team had a good win beating Westminster Old Scholars 40-33. The girls gelled well after only having one training session together prior to the match. We are looking forward to getting to know each other more and improving as a team in the weeks to come. Coach Anita Quinlivan.

Inter 1 – JAGS 33 – Harlequin 49

Inter 3 - Contax 29 V JAGS 33. After being selected to play Inter 3 by AMND, our main objective was to win the first four games forcing our promotion into Inter 2. Our first game in Inter 3 was against Contax, which we knew was never going to be an easy game. After a see-sawing battle, with never ending lead changes we were victorious by 4 goals. A fantastic team effort setup this valuable win. In the process highlighting some great individual brilliance within this talented team. This week sees us playing Cougars on our road to success. Inter 4 - JAGS 46 – Wildcats 38. We had an excellent first up win in warm weather conditions and with players unavailable due to illness and holidays. Everyone contributed 100%. Coach Kaye O’Rielly.
