League Report

Jags record good win over Harlies. In Friday night's state league game Jags recorded a 40 goal win over Harlequin. Coach Webster asked his team to give more after a scrappy first half. The team responded to the call after half time, the team drove home their scoreboard advantage with good fluid netball. Both goalies were mobile and presented as a focal point for the midcourters, whilst the defenders successfully held the Harlie shooters and rebounded regularly.

State League Reserves

The Reserves took the tough road home, after trailing for most of the game, once again the players were asked to step up in the second half, and did so slowly reigning in the Harlie lead that had got out to 10 goals at one stage. Good defensive work shut down the Harliquin attacks in the second half bringing the rest of the team back into the game securing Jags a 3 goal win. Coach Jim Haldane.

B2

Jags def Woods Panthers (by 3). With a renewed and more positive perspective, our first quarter was fast paced and energetic. We continued to push through the game by applying pressure and trying some new defensive plays. Having intensity and team work already at the backbone of the unit, some minor polish will see us continue to challenge teams at the top end of our draw. A great team effort! Bree Downs-Woolley.

C2

The C2 team had a good game today beating one of the top teams Immanuel Doves 32-25. All the girls put in a great effort and are really starting to play as a team. Coach Anita Quinlivan.

Sub Junior 2

Our team took on an older and more experienced Tango side. As with the other Sub Junior teams this team is made up of mostly first year sub juniors, who to their credit kept trying and playing as a team. We sincerely thank all the parents for their show of positive encouragement and support as we learn and grow from our experiences. Coach Julie Martin and Manager Bev.

Junior 9

Another hard fought game with fantastic team work from everyone. Any loose balls were snapped up by us with many being converted to see us in front from the first quarter. Tight defence all the way down the court again this week forced the opposition into several errors resulting in many turnovers. The windy conditions made it difficult for our goalies but they seemed to take it in their stride. Well done girls.” Coach Tracey Robinson.

Primary 7

Well this week saw us take on the top side 'Tango'. Unfortunately we lost 2 - 12. The girls were out played in the second quarter. The other 3 quarters we stayed with them. We were lucky enough to have Kevin on our bench these week and he saw some real improvement. Keep up the good work girls. We are getting stronger every week! Coach Tobie Steen.
