League & Reserves Falter

Both League & Reserves faltered against Matrics this round. The League failed to keep up with Matrics in the first half, and made to many unforced errors. The side played catch up in the second half, but Matrics kept the pressure on and maintained control of the game. A late charge from Jags failed to get the points on the day.

The Reserves despite being in front most of the game, surrendered the lead in the last quarter when they failed to hold their composure against a strong finishing Matrics. All in all a disappointing night for Jags fans with their sides not delivering the goods when it counted. Coach Jim Haldane.

B2

Jags vs Oakdale. We continued to follow a consistent pattern of winning only 2 quarters per game and once again, this was enough to seal victory. While the controlled and steady passages of play grows bigger each week, we look forward to becoming more consistent and increasing our overall percentage as the weeks progress. Special mention to Ali, Emma and Kara whose support from the B5’s provided a gutsy edge in defence. Bree Downs-Woolley.

C2

The team played Semaphore after they were re-graded from C1. The girls played really well together, getting there first win for the season 31-25.

Lucy was outstanding in GD for the game along with Rebecca playing a strong game in centre. Coach Anita Quinlivan

Sub Junior 1

We lost in a tight battle with full time scores 20-18. After leading the game at half time by 7 goals, we really struggled to consolidate the lead but the girls hung in there until the end and never gave up. After last week's game, I thought there was a huge improvement by the players and I was really pleased to see such a difference from week 1. A win is not far away!! Coach Karen O'Shaughnessy

Primary 3

Our team had a super game against Oakdale this week. With only 1 goal the difference for most of the game, Oakdale came home in the last quarter to finish with a 12 – 8 victory against us. All the girls proved that their developing skills of dodging and driving, tall, strong defence and accuracy at goals are coming along nicely. Excellent performances in the mid court with Brianna, Chelsea and Olivia all contributing and using their skills well. Imogen also held strong in GK. A great effort by all players who are looking forward to next Saturday. Coach Sue Jones.

Primary 7

Well this week we have gone one better. We drew, 6 all. Our defenders worked extremely hard. Maddi was outstanding. She intercepted so many balls, it was hard to count! The girls are all giving 100% and this shows through at training and on game day. Well done girls keep it up! Coach Tobie Steen.
