Inters Now March in Summer Finals

On another very hot night the Intermediate matches were played on Tuesday night. On this occasion the additional drinks breaks were not instigated and normal length quarters were played.

Inter 1 were matched against Cougars. The game started out being very hectic with the teams being well matched in the first quarter. Jags regrouped at quarter time and pulled further away each quarter. The final score of 42 to 22 really was a realistic appraisal of the game with Jags pulling away to be easy winners. The Jags coach, Dave North, said after the game that he had considered just putting on his starting 7 for the game. Dave said that it became clear there was no need to do this as the game progressed and that all his players had been fully committed and played a valuable part in the victory. Inter 1 now plays the Grand Final on Tuesday 18th March. Given the heat the game will now start at 9pm.

Inter 3 The girls started off really well, getting out to a 6-1 start, and being up by 4 goals at quarter time. After a big second quarter from Garville, the momentum of the game was turned. The girls stayed steady with Garville for the rest of the game, but couldn’t manage to peg back the deficit. It was a fun team to coach, with one of our main aims to have some fun and win a few games given the win:loss ratios for some of the girls last winter. All girls played well throughout the season.

Please all come out on Tuesday to support our Inter 1’s, remember a 9 o’clock start.

Don’t forget Friday sees 3 of our Junior teams, Junior 2, 3 and 4, competing in the Grand Finals, 3 and 4 against each other. These matches will now start at 8.45pm due to the extreme heat.
